Beat 3: Set-Up | At Piper High School Cory Williams, a freshman student, wants to have a good high school career but his former best friend Jamal and himself get into a brawl causing a Confrontation. | |
The Hook | The flashforward in the beginning that will leaves the audience wondering what will happen next. |

Mise en scene | Lighting: it is low at times but mainly middle. Costume: Cory’s outfit consists of a glasses, a burgundy hoodie, black cargo pants, and white and burgundy shoes. Set Design: in a house, the hallway of the school, a classroom, and the commons/cafeteria. Props: phones, backpacks. Composition: Rule of Thirds to show off the setting, symmetry to balance, one and two shots to focus on our characters. Color: Orange and light tan our school colors, burgundy on Cory to represent individuality and brown for Jamal to represent power. | |
Dialogue | At the start of class Cory and Jamal meet up again but then Jamal calls Cory a “big black monkey” causing a Confrontation between the two | |
